Paul Holtby
LTA Licensed Coach, CCA, ERSCA, BTCA, CRB , First Aid
With over twenty years of coaching experience at all levels tennis Paul has a depth of knowledge which covers all areas of the game. “I’ve had the pleasure of coaching some of the region’s top players many of which have become coaches themselves. Our team of coaches are all dedicated to creating a quality tennis environment to learn and enjoy”. He is also an LTA qualified referee and ABTO member and is involved in tutoring and mentoring new coaches at all levels.
Paul has played in and captained teams to success at all levels of club competition including National Club League, Yorkshire League Division One as well as Hull League and Driffield league division One.
He lives in Beverley with wife Vicky, children Ben, Sam, Alex, Lucy, Katie and Diesel the dog.

Richard Potter
LTA Licensed, DCA, CRB, First Aid
Richard has played division one Yorkshire league and National league tennis for a number of years. He has experience of coaching at many levels including schools tennis, holiday courses and club team squad.
After finishing his studies at Salford University he is now working full time in the coaching programme.
Richard is currently training as a referee and is also a trained racket stringing technician.

Ivan Close
DCA Coach, CRB, First Aid
After coaching successfully at David Lloyd Hull and Kingston Park as well as working with the sports development side of Hull City Council Ivan is now settled at Cottingham. His experience means he can cope with all levels of tennis from beginners through to tournament players.
He is a member of the Cottingham National league and Yorkshire league squads and was part of the team that won the Yorkshire league division one trophy in 2004.
Ivan also works for the NHS and is married to Sam, they became parents in 2008 with the birth of Jessica.

Judy Copeland
PTR 1, ERSCA, CRB, First Aid
As a Mini Tennis specialist, Judy coaches and co-ordinates at Red, Orange and Green levels. With a wealth of experience of club level coaching, Judy has recently completed her PTR 1 course as well as the Advanced Mini Tennis Course.
Judy regularly plays Driffield League Ladies’ tennis.

Joe Barratt
LTA Licensed Coach DCA, ERSCA, CRB, First Aid
Joe or “Bazza”, as he’s better known, has been coaching for 18 months and has made great strides in that time, his on court enthusiasm has always made him a popular coach.
Has recently broken into the first team squads but already has extensive tournament experience as well as playing in the National Junior Club League.

Lee Guest
DCA, CRB, First Aid
As a Shropshire county player and winner of the 2008 Oliver Nelson Trophy Lee has top class playing credentials. He was formerly coached at Wolverhampton Tennis and Squash club and is now training to become a doctor.

Jemma Taylor
UKCC2, CRB, First Aid
Having finished University at Roehampton, Jemma is now making a career in tennis coaching. Over recent years she has assisted on court and built up a wide knowledge of the game.
She has played club tennis to a high standard and also represented her University with great distinction.
Having worked at Wimbledon and the Stella Artois tournament at Queens Club Jemma has had a taste of big time tennis.

Ben Holtby
UKCC1, ABTO, CRB, First Aid
Having been brought up around tennis all his life, Ben has a wide understanding of coaching and the game in general. Ben has experience of coaching at many different levels including holiday courses and schools’ tennis. He is currently working with Mini Tennis Red, Orange and Green performance level players as well as junior boys and girls.
Ben has played tennis at all junior levels and has represented his club at local league and national club league level. He is a Level 5 qualified ABTO Referee who officiates at regional events and is also a trained racket stringing technician.

Tim Price

Tim is already experienced in all types of schools’ tennis and football coaching. He works in the mini tennis sections of the club where he is very popular with the kids.
Tim is currently studying at Loughborough University.

Emily Brookes

Emily works mostly in the Mini Tennis Red section of the programme. Helping to promote tennis and to bring more young players into the game.

With two years’ coaching experience behind him, Graham has worked in all areas of Junior tennis including Mini Tennis and Schools’ tennis.
He has represented his club and his university at tennis and continues to improve his own standard of play.

Kate Wharmby
TA, ERSCA, CRB, First Aid
As Mini Tennis Red Co-ordinator Kate coaches and directs a large part of the Junior and Adult Beginner programme including the running of Mini Tennis Tournaments.
She continues to work hard on her own matchplay level and is now playing regular team tennis.
